Finally!!! A small eternity of waiting without a phone or internet at my new house and I am now connected. Hello everyone..I have missed you!! So now I have a real home sweet home and I can begin having a fully functional life in France, and I can share it with you more often.

Here is a picture of my kitchen. It is hard to see in this image but notice the white box on the table. That is my heaven sent WiFi box from the second company I signed up with. The first company was completely inept and had me still wiaiing for my service after more than a month. The second company had me connected in 5 days. You are my heroes SFR Neufbox!!

I love my house in this little village, Saint Rémy d'Aveyron. The Aveyron is the department in which I live. Because there are other villages called Saint Rémy in France it is important to specify the department. There is a famous Saint Rémy in Provence where Van Gogh lived the last year of his life. Here is the view from my kitchen window. The living room is where I have my easel and my space for oil painting. This room didn’t need much work because I liked the colors that the previous tenant painted. But the bathroom and kitchen I had to repaint. Dang, I thought I was done with that. So I have been busy since I moved in, not only with finding furniture and all necessary household items, but with painting walls, ceiling and trim. Whew, I’m glad I am done with that.
There is an insert stove in the beautiful fireplace with ancient stonework. I haven’t used it yet as I got very tired of heating with wood at the cottage where I stayed at the beginning. I have central heat here, which is feul and expensive Luckily it's been warm enough lately to not need heat.
The living part of the house is actually on the second floor with an unfinished basement on the ground floor. So my front door opens on to a little porch on the second floor with a nice view. it is so peaceful here. The main road is on a hill above and away from the village so there is no through traffic here. I never worry about Kyrie or Smudgy being outside the house as far as their safety goes, Though I do worry about the safety of the neighbor's chickens!
I have a small courtyard garden called a jardinet in French. The previous tenant didn’t do much with it so I have begun the work. The grass is very patchy so I planted new grass . According to the package there are poppy flower seeds also mixed in with the grass seed. i wonder if they will actually sprout and grow.since there isn’t a lot of sun during the day. This fact will make it a nice place to sit in the summer heat.
This is the view from the guest bedroom. This village is so picturesque complete with it’s own old church and castle. I am very happy to have a guestroom so that I can have visitors here and can share this wonderful place with friends and family. You are welcome to come stay here from the US especially if you bring a suitcase with supplies and goods I need that I can't buy here, and will take the suitcase back full of my art work that I sell in the US. Contact me to schedule dates.
